Smart Greetings

Proactive messages that engage visitors based on the page they're viewing.

Smart greetings let your chatbot start the conversation. Instead of waiting for visitors to ask a question, the widget can display a greeting message based on which page they're browsing.

How It Works

URL Pattern Matching

Define URL patterns with wildcards to target specific pages. For example, /products/* matches all product pages.

Configurable Delay

Set a delay between 0 and 30 seconds before the greeting appears. This lets visitors settle into the page before being prompted.

Per-Greeting Toggle

Enable or disable individual greetings without deleting them. Useful for seasonal messages or A/B testing.

Multi-language Support

Add translations for each greeting message. The widget automatically shows the greeting in the visitor's language.

Setting Up Greetings

  1. 1Go to Studio → Greetings
  2. 2Click Add Greeting
  3. 3Enter a URL pattern (e.g. /pricing or /products/*)
  4. 4Write your greeting message and set the delay
  5. 5Optionally add translations for other languages

Example

URL Pattern:  /pricing
Delay:        5 seconds
Message:      "Have questions about our plans? I can help you find the right one!"
Enabled:      Yes

This greeting appears 5 seconds after a visitor lands on your pricing page.
